Device territories are drawn on where the procedures happen. That means specialty density by geography, and knowing when something changes.

Territory sizing

How many orthopaedic surgeons practise within twenty-five miles of a given ZIP, and how that compares to the neighbouring territory. Useful when territories are being redrawn and somebody needs a defensible number.

New practices

An organisation registering a new NPI in your area is worth knowing about early — equipment decisions get made once and live for years.

Group size

Where the CMS Doctors and Clinicians file is loaded, group affiliation and size come with it, which separates the solo practice from the hospital-owned group.

What this data will not tell you

Practice addresses are frequently billing offices rather than clinical sites, so density by address overstates some locations and understates others. A large hospital campus often shows hundreds of clinicians at a single address.
