Remove a listing

Remove a provider listing from NPIData.org

Free, and it takes about a minute. Start with the ten-digit NPI of the listing you want removed.

What removal does

The listing's page on NPIData.org is replaced with a short notice that the record was removed, and it disappears from search, lists, downloads and our API. Directories that use our data, such as OnlinePsychiatrists.org, drop it on their next nightly update.

What it does not do

It does not change the federal record. NPIData.org republishes the public NPI registry that CMS runs; the NPI and its details stay public in the NPPES NPI Registry and on other websites that copy it. To change the record itself, update it in NPPES.

Search engines can keep showing an old copy of the page for a while after it is gone. If you change your mind later, contact us and we will publish it again.

Limits

One removal per internet connection every 30 days, and a daily limit for the whole site. Removing several listings — for a practice, say — or sharing an office connection with a colleague who has already used the tool? Use the contact form and we will do it by hand.
