Most of these are teaching hospitals, and a few are something less interesting: a health system's central billing office, where thousands of clinicians who work elsewhere all list the same administrative address. That is worth knowing if you ever rely on a practice address to tell you where someone actually works.
How this was built
Addresses are normalised — suite and floor numbers stripped, street types abbreviated — so one building collapses to one row. Names come from organisation records registered at the same address, which is an inference rather than a stated fact: the registry has no employer field for individuals.
A large count can mean a genuinely large campus or a shared billing address. We do not attempt to tell them apart.
